Mathura is an ancient city, which has been mentioned in books and epics which tell about its existence long before any of the civilizations we had ever found. Even in the recorded history Mathura has been mentioned as one of the most strategically located cities that connect trade routes to West Asia, Roman empire Central Asia and even the Silk Route to China. During the time of Buddha this city turned out to be a major metropolis and the also the capital city of Surasena kingdom.

Mathura can never be completely explored and finished with, because it’s not just the temples and monuments but the culture and daily life that makes it different and attractive. This full day walking tour tries to give you maximum of the city one by one exploring the major destinations. Our walking tour starts with Krishna Janmabhoomi Temple which is said to be the place of birth of Lord Krishna. It is believed about nearly 5000 years ago Lord Krishna was born in the prison of King Kansa in Mathura.

Our next destination would be The Dwarkadheesh Temple; the architecture of which is very interesting with beautiful carvings and paintings. Festivals like Holi, Janmashtami and Diwali are celebrated with lot of pomp and grandeur in the temple. Going further we shall visit the nearby colorful buzzing markets and a few smaller temples in the vicinity which are both historically and myth logically important.

Our last destination would be the Jama Masjid of Mathura constructed by Nabir -Khan in 1661 A.D, a governor of Mughal emperor Aurangzeb.
