The splendid fortresses, majestic palaces and royal buildings are so unique and so beautiful that every visit will make you feel that you should come again. The serenity of lush gardens and floral array acts as the cherry on the cake of fabulous landscapes giving a picturesque view. The spectacular forts give a splendor image of the Rajpuatna and Mughal architecture and way of they lived. One can see the royalness of Rajasthan through the walls and interiors of these forts.
This walk takes you to two of the most important and famous forts of Jaipur, Nahargarh fort and the Jaigarh Fort. Jaigarh Fort is one of the biggest, very important and well maintained forts in Jaipur. It was originally built to protect Amer Palace and is connected to Amer Palace with secret. Jaigarh Fort houses the world’s largest Cannon on Wheels “Jai Ban”. The fort is built with the thick walls of Red Sandstone and stretches 3km from North to South and 1 km in width, which houses Residential Palaces, Water Reservoirs, Entertainment areas, Cannon Foundry, Watch tower, Temples, Museums, Garden and so on.
Nahargarh Fort is located on the sheer rugged ridge of Aravali Hills and it forms an impressive northern backdrop of Pink City of Jaipurand also is the first of the three forts built by Maharaja Jai Sawai Singh of Jaipur in Rajasthan. Beyond the hills of Jaigarh, stands the fort of Nahargarh like a watchful sentinel guarding Sawai Jai Singh’s beautiful capital. The Fort of was constructed mainly in 1734, however further additions were made to it, by the succeeding rulers in the 19th century. In 1734, seven years after his new capital was built Jai Singh II began to build this small fort.
